No podcast this week or next, while I explore the uncharted (to me) waters of jazz and improvisation. I’ll report back in two weeks.

Oh, and I was going to let you know if I could play through Op. 10 by today. I can’t; I just didn’t manage to memorize no. 10 yet (I haven’t made my theory map yet, and I just keep modulating up and up and up. Also, the expletive deleted articulations keep changing and I just can’t keep up with them.)

It will be good to take a break from Chopin. I need it. Picture me playing blues in F, trying hard not to play in root position…

Hi all,

I just tried to record this week’s podcast with my tot (age almost two), but every time I started playing he said “nooo!” and, sobbingly, “loud!” I’ll try again once I’ve found a babysitter (hopefully this afternoon or tomorrow).

Oh, and if you’ve been in suspense, the lesson last week was enjoyable and enormously helpful.
